Throughout his press conference he railed on about the insensitivity of the Jumbo Jet flyby and the panic it triggered to the residents of New York and how he desires responses as to why this occurred. Then in the same breath, without even missing a beat, he then said "in the end though, it's the federal government, and they will do whatever they wish to." Huh.excuse me? Because when was this how our country operated?

In the words of former President John Quincy Adams, "Always elect principle, though you may vote alone, and you may value the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost".

However much of us don't know that back in 1953 the US and British intelligence firms overthrew a popular democratically chosen federal government in Iran. And subsequently installed the Shah as leader because nation. The Shah ruled with an iron initially for the next 25 years, till the Iranian Transformation of 1978-1979 removed him from power. So much for our love of liberty and democracy. We overthrow a democratic government and set up a dictatorship. This was done because we didn't like the method the democratic government was governing. And we desired a ruler that would do our bidding.

Some residents might be concerned that they end up being just no one and a number cares, but in reality isn't that the way it is right now? Will the older generation enable this? Your very strong views about anything are your right to have. But governance is not about everybody else giving in to your whims, fancies, beliefs or passions. Governance is, to name a few things, about striking a healthy balance in between completing positions. And that is not easy. Neither should it be, else somebody would get the grand idea that possibly with a bit more charisma, a bit more lying, a bit more deception, possibly, simply possibly you might blindside everybody long enough to slip something that has nothing to do with common interests past all of us. So I never ever wish to reside in a society where it is easy to make concrete changes, [empty] even if those modifications completely show my own values.
